Implication des agents de santé communautaires dans la lutte contre le paludisme chez les enfants de 0 à 59 mois au Mali : étude comparative

Introduction : Notre étude a tenté de comparer l’intervention proactive des soins essentiels au niveau communautaire aux soins de santé sans intervention communautaire en matière de lutte contre le paludisme chez les enfants de moins de cinq ans. Méthodologie : Nous avons mené une étude comparative avec une collecte des données prospective sur une période allant du 1er janvier au 31 mars 2024 et rétrospective de 2020 à 2023 au niveau des Centres de Santé Communautaires (Cscom). Le Cscom de Yirimadjo a été considéré comme le bras d’intervention et celui de Sénou comme le bras de contrôle. Résultats : Notre étude a porté sur 400 participants soit 200 participants par centre de santé. La tranche d’âge de 12 à 36 mois a été la plus représentée dans les deux centres soit respectivement 49,0% et 53,0% ; et le sexe masculin a été majoritaire à Sénou soit 53,0%. Le bras contrôle a enregistré plus de cas de paludisme simple traité au niveau du centre de Santé p < 0,001. La majorité des enfants de moins de cinq ans vus en consultation curative a été référée par les agents de santé communautaire soit dans 89,5% des cas. Conclusion : La stratégie PROSEC permet de réduire la morbidité et la mortalité palustre chez les enfants de 0 à 59 mois
